Biography:
Prof. Tony Long is the Director of CYP@Salford: a multi-professional research group which focuses on enhancing services, improving outcomes and evidencing impacts on children and families. The research group works closely with colleagues in the UK National Health Service, Local Authorities (state social care), the Third Sector, and national networks. Increasingly, they use simulation and immersive environments in their research.
Prof. Long’s research is designed to improve quality of life outcomes for survivors of childhood brain tumour; and to enhance the impact of interventions in health and social care services for neglected children and those at risk of child sexual abuse. He review grants for 8 government funding bodies, have acquired £2.1million in 33 research grants; supervised 13 doctoral students to completion; and published 121 books, chapters, peer-reviewed articles, research reports, and conference papers.
