Biography:
Vidya Chan began her academic journey at the University at Buffalo, earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2007. After gaining valuable experience as a practicing critical care nurse, she pursued a Master of Science in Nursing Education at Stony Brook University, graduating in 2019. Her passion for nursing education led her to a faculty position at Farmingdale State College, where she currently teaches in the undergraduate nursing program. In her role as course coordinator for the Writing Intensive Nursing Course, Prof. Chan discovered a strong interest in integrating innovative teaching methods, including generative AI, into the nursing curriculum. This interest has inspired their pursuit of a PhD at the University at Buffalo, where she is currently a doctoral student. Prof. Chan is dedicated to advancing the field of nursing education through research, technology integration, and mentorship of the next generation of nursing professionals.
