Abstract:

This presentation will analyse various forms of assessments used in higher education setting in the UK. It will critically analyse pros and cons of the assessment methods and provide evaluation of these tools of assessment. This will also discuss student choices of assessment and explore impact of Open AI on contemporary assessment methods. Additionally, reviewed and preferred working methods of assessment will be included. Feedback methods will also be analysed making sense of how feedback would help develop students learning, consider inclusivity and improve future assessments. Constructive methods of feedback and tips on user friendly feedback will also be covered. Overall, the above poster would help enhance understanding of Assessment and feedback in higher education and equip audience with ideas on various assessments and feedback methods available. This will enable them to choose some of these for practice in their education setting to promote student development and overall satisfaction. Analysis of assessment and feedback in higher education promotes learner centred, reflective, and evidence based approach. By continually evaluating the effectiveness of assessment strategies and feedback practices, educators can enhance learning experiences, improve student outcomes, and foster a culture of continuous improvement within higher education.

Biography:

Lovely Sajan is a highly motivated and enthusiastic lecturer with great passion for nursing education She gained her clinical expertise from her 16 years’ experience in the NHS in medical, cardiac areas, continuing healthcare and haemoglobinopathy settings. She also has nine years of background in teaching in higher education and is currently working as a lecturer at Swansea University. She holds an MSc in Nursing Science, with additional teaching qualifications and accreditations. She is devoted to her career and loves to support and develop students in gaining knowledge, skills and expertise required in their journey to becoming a qualified nurse.
