Nursing professionals routinely work in high-pressure environments that require sustained compassion, emotional presence, adaptability, and rapid decision-making. Repeated exposureto crisis, grief, staffing shortages, patient acuity, and emotional labor can contribute to burnout,compassion fatigue, emotional exhaustion, and workforce instability. As healthcare organizations continue addressing retention, morale, and quality patient care, sustainable wellness practices are becoming increasingly essential within the nursing profession.This presentation explores practical, evidence-informed strategies that support long-term well-being, resilience, and operational sustainability for nursing professionals. The session examine show chronic stress exposure impacts communication, leadership capacity, workplace culture,performance, and patient care outcomes. Participants will also explore how unprocessed emotional strain and cumulative exposure affect both individual wellness and organizational effectiveness over time.Drawing from healthcare chaplaincy, wellness strategy, and organizational wellness principles,the presentation moves beyond surface-level self-care approaches to discuss sustainable practices that support long-term professional effectiveness.
