Title : The positive impact of male involvement and support during pregnancy
Abstract:
This writeup/presentation investigated the relationship between paternal involvement/ support and pregnancy outcome. Data from a pregnant woman was collected, including measures of partner support, prenatal care adherence and pregnancy complications. Analysis indicated a positive association between higher level of partner support and positive pregnancy outcome, including reduced risk of abortion, preterm birth and or low birth weight. Also, women with supportive partners were more likely to attend all scheduled antenatal care appointments. These findings underscore the importance of encouraging and aiding male partner involvement for improved maternal and neonatal health.
