"A creative and rigorous structure of ideas that project a tentative, deliberate, and systematic understanding of reality" is how nursing theory is described. Nurses are able to acquire information relevant to enhancing patient care through methodical inquiry, whether in nursing research or practise. "A cohesive set of broad concepts utilised as rules of explanation" is what theory is. There wasn't much formal nursing knowledge in the beginning of nursing's history. Nursing theory was created as nursing education advanced in response to the need to categorise information and assist nurses in assessing the more complicated client care settings. Nursing theories provide a framework for reflection that allows one to consider the direction in which the plan should go. This framework offers a plan for management, research, and decision-making as new situations are encountered. Nursing theories can provide a framework for interacting with other nurses as well as with other team members. Nursing theories aid in the formulation of nursing's ideas, values, and aims. They aid in defining the many specific contributions that nursing makes to the treatment of patients. Research and practise in nursing are guided by nursing theory.
