Telehealth And Telenursing
Telenursing is the practise of delivering nursing care remotely. Telenursing comes in a wide variety of forms and has been around longer than most people think. However, the COVID-19 pandemic this year has brought it into sharper attention. Any service where medical treatment is provided remotely via technology is referred to as telehealth. It increases accessibility to healthcare as well as efficiency. Registered nurses were hired in call centres at hospitals or managed care companies in the early days of telenursing to triage patients over the phone. After asking about symptoms, the nurse would inform patients whether they needed to attend the emergency department immediately or whether they could wait until the next day to see a doctor.
