Abstract:
Neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) is an approach that recognizes how your brain (neuro) receives and interprets information, and your language (linguistic) patterns spoken, and how this influences and controls (programming) your behaviour. Although clinical dentistry involves a high level of dexterity and technical skill, it is predominately about human interaction. We are not simply treating teeth; we are treating the whole patient. Therefore, NLP relates our words, thoughts and behaviours to our goals. It is about our experience, how we think about our values and beliefs, and how we create our emotional states. It is a way of discovering and bringing out the best in ourselves and others.
NLP techniques, if applied in practice, will have a huge impact on you as a person, both within your own personal life and in your professional practice. NLP is like having a toolbox of techniques which can be used to manage difficult situations, and enable you to get the results you want.
This presentation would show how to make the small changes on the inside that will make huge differences on the outside, because when you change your mind you change the situation. That’s what NLP is all about; you, and how you run your own mind and put a twinkle in your eye as you do it.
