Title : Latest trend in nursing leadership at Saudi Arabia hospitals
Abstract:
This study aims to determine the relationship between leadership styles of nurse managers and job satisfaction of staff nurses in hospital settings in Hail Region, Saudi Arabia. The study will utilize a quantitative correlational research design. The research respondents of this study will be: (1) head nurses of various nursing units of the government hospitals in Hail City using the modified MLQ developed by Bass and Avolio (2000); and (2) staff nurses who will rate their job satisfaction using the WQI 38-scale questionnaire by Whitley & Putzier, (1994). Purposive sampling will be employed to generate samples from the group of staff nurses and selective sampling will be employed to the group of nurse managers. Data will be gathered from September to November 2022 and statistical analysis will be performed using SPSS version 24. The result of the study will serve as a basis for coming up with a training and development program for nurse managers in health care setting to enhance leadership styles that will promote staff nurses job satisfaction and ultimately result in quality patient care and patients’ satisfaction
